Dr Shahenshah is a co-founder of Afren with over 20 years’ experience in oil and gas finance. He has been key to the development of Afren – from its creation in 2004, to its current international status as a main market listed independent oil and gas exploration and production group.
During his career in finance, which included a senior position in the private sector arm of the World Bank, he has worked extensively in Africa and in the oil and gas sector for companies including Shell, Chevron, Total, Eni S.p.A and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
He holds a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master’s Degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree from Brown University.
